This Peru package to the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Cusco was specially designed by TRAVELERS
“From my experience, constantly traveling to Cusco, and having lived there, and after being in touch with thousands of travelers, this is the best possible itinerary I could come up with,” he said. “I like this itinerary so much that I named it after my grandmother, Rosalia, who was born in 1920, and still lives in a small town outside of Cusco.”
This package is similar to our Heart of the Inca itinerary, but includes several extra days in Cusco and the Sacred Valley. This allows for a more intimate and thorough travel experience for travelers who really want to get to know the region in depth.

If you climb to the top of its magnificent ancient ruins, you will be rewarded with an incredible view. Day 3 : Private Moray & Maras Tour
- After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll take a fascinating private tour of 2 of the area’s most unique sites: Moray and Maras.
- Moray is believed to have been an agricultural research center for the Inca Empire. You will see a set of downward spiraling terraces of stone worked into the ground. Layer after layer, you will descend until you reach the circular center at the bottom.
- At Maras, you will see the salt flats, an astounding spectacle of numerous white drying pools used by the Incas to extract the natural salt from the mountain stream.
- In the evening, you’ll return to your Sacred Valley hotel for a relaxing night.
Day 4 : Private Machu Picchu Tour
- This morning you will take the ride aboard the luxury Vistadome train to the hidden temple of the Incas: Machu Picchu. The train ride is an attraction in itself, as it takes you through stunning and diverse scenery, providing a real sense of Peru’s diverse geography.
- Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, the town near Machu Picchu, you will head to the bus station for the 20-minute ride up to the secluded citadel, where you will enjoy a private tour of the ruins with an expert guide.
- After your tour, you can wander the site on your own. From the Royal Sector you can look straight toward the principle baths and the Temple of the Sun. From overwhelmingly crafted terraces to artistically constructed temples and buildings, there is much to see at this remarkable site. Check out our Machu Picchu Travel Guide for more information.
- In the afternoon, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes, where you will spend the night.
Day 5 : Machu Picchu Free Day

- Once you’ve had your fill of this wonder, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Cusco, where you can check into your hotel and spend the evening at your leisure. Check out our travel guide on the lively Cusco nightlife.
